Personal Description

People have described me as being laid-back with a good (but somewhat twisted!) sense of humour. I love to laugh (good medicine) & to make others laugh as well.
I can be serious when the occasion demands, but usually I'm light-hearted and jovial. ("Don't take life too seriously b/c you'll never get out of it alive!")
I'm somewhat shy at first, until I get to know someone well enough to know that I can trust them.
My Christian faith is very important to me, and I'm actively involved in church activities, having served on the Board of Directors, Head Usher, designated driver for those unable to get to church otherwise, and co-lead a Christ Centered 12-step Recovery Group.
One of my favorite scriptures is Proverbs 3:5+6 "Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths." God has lead me to some remarkable places and continues to do so as long as I TRUST Him. When quoting the aforementioned scripture most people stop there, but the beginning of verse 7 is as equally important: "Do not be wise in thine own eyes"...God knows better than I do!
Another key scripture for me is Romans 8:28 "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God; to those who are called according to His purpose." We may face trials and tribulations in this world but I choose to give thanks to Him regardless of my circumstances (1 Thess 5:18) for I know that He is molding and shaping me (Romans 5:3-5)
I love to share the Love of God with others (I'm somewhat of an evangelist at heart) and to live what I preach. I have a saying I like: "Go out into all the world and preach the Gospel, and use words if you HAVE to". Your best witness is WHO you are, not what you say.
I'm an avid reader and love to expand my scope of understanding. Info, info, info...I suppose that makes me an "Info-maniac"!!
I'm learning about computers, but have a long way to go. I've learned most what NOT to do (I'm self-taught in most arenas; not the best thing when it comes to computers!!)

Getting to know someone as a friend precedes all else, and a trust that any further development would be of God's leading, Spirit filled, & Christ centered.
The ideal relationship for me would be based on caring, love, trust, honesty, and good effective communication (VERY important!). I'm looking to find my best friend.
Jesus is the head of my household & must be the head of any relationship He leads me into. The person I'm looking for would be kind and comp%%#ionate with a gentle spirit.
I would prefer to chat a bit on the phone first to get a feeling about where the other person is at, then maybe meet for a cup of coffee or a leisurely walk in the Park. Something with no pressures so that we can be free to be ourselves.
Ultimately my goal is to serve God with all that I say or do. I would like to marry, but only to the right person God has for me. I have another saying: "I'd much rather WANT what I don't have, than HAVE what I don't want!” I see so many people involved in relationships ("ships"? I'm not even in a "boat" right now!) for all the wrong reasons and don't want to go there. I'm looking for "Miss Right" but NOT "Miss ALWAYS Right"; I will never again be anyone's emotional 'punching bag'.
